Services To Support You & Your Family

Healthy Child Programme Services 0-5

Due to the current situation with Coronavirus (COVID-19), we have had to make some changes to the way we work in the community. We want to ensure that the families, children and young people that really need our support can still access help.

We will contact you if we need to make any changes to your current planned appointments.

Planned Appointments

Home Visits

  • Our staff will be wearing PPE; masks, and sometimes aprons or gloves. We would be grateful if adults present for the visit wear a mask and if you could limit the number of people present in the room.
  • Please put any dogs in another room before you open the door. They are sometimes confused and may react unpredictably when visitors wear masks.

Video Appointments

  • Video appointments are completed using a secure NHS platform.
  • Visit the video appointment page to find out more or join your appointment.

Antenatal Visit

Once your midwife has told us that you are expecting a baby, we will contact you to let you know about our services after you are 28 weeks pregnant.

During the visit we will ask you about your feelings about the pregnancy, your health, and your unborn baby’s health and development. This contact will enable us to get to know you and your family, and it is also a chance for you to ask any questions you may have or to discuss any worries and concerns.

If you or your midwife think you need more support, the heath visitor will talk to about how we can best offer this.

1 Year Review

When your child is around 1 years old we will send you a text message or letter by email or in the post. We will ask you to complete a questionnaire about your child's development. This will help you to think about the stage your child is at and what you can do to help their development.

Remember that all children develop at their own pace and if you have any concerns about your child’s progress, or if your child has any specific health or development needs, you can contact our Just One Number team for support and advice at any time.

2 1/2 Year Review

When your child is around 2 and a half years old we will send you a text message or letter by email or in the post. We will ask you to complete another questionnaire about your child's development. This will help you to think about the stage your child is at and what you can do to help their development.

If you have any concerns about your child’s progress, or if your child has any specific health or development needs, a member of our team can offer further assessment and advice.

School Readiness & Starting School

Starting school is a big milestone for children. They are probably ready for this next step and will enjoy the learning and the new experiences being at school will offer. Lots of children make the move to reception class smoothly and enjoy the beginning of their school days, for some the transition can be more difficult.

To support you we have a lot of information here on Just One Norfolk. We have also created a quiz to work through and the results you get will include information most useful for your family.
